Terms

Terms of Service

Effective date: October 10, 2026

1. Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Outro LLC (“Outro,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), a Texas limited liability company. They cover the Outro desktop app, the website at getoutro.app, your Outro account, the Outro cloud service, and the shared-track pages at fb.getoutro.app (together, the “Service”).

By using the Service, you agree to these terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.

2. Who can use Outro

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. If you use it for a business or another organization, you confirm that you can agree to these terms on its behalf.

3. The beta

Outro is in private beta. It is free, we invite people in as space opens, and it is still being built. That means:

  • Features may change, be added or be removed, and things may break
  • The Service may be unavailable at times, and we don't promise any level of uptime
  • We may limit how much you can store, and change those limits
  • Keep your own copies of your work. Your projects live on your computer, and shared audio is a copy of a file you already have

If we introduce paid plans, we will tell you before anything costs money, and nothing will be charged without your agreement.

4. Your account

Some features, such as Feedback, need an Outro account. Keep your sign-in details secure, and tell us at support@getoutro.app if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account and on the computers you link to it. You can unlink a computer or delete your account at any time.

5. Using the desktop app

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Outro desktop app while you have access to the Service. You may not copy, sell, rent or redistribute the app, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows you to despite this restriction.

6. Your content

Your music, projects, notes, comments and messages (“your content”) are yours. We don’t claim ownership of anything you create or upload.

To run the Service, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, copy, process, transmit and display your content, only as needed to provide the Service to you and to the people you choose to share with, and to keep it secure. For example, when you share a track, we store the audio and play it to anyone who opens its share link. This license ends when your content is deleted from the Service, except for copies we are allowed to keep under our Privacy Policy.

You confirm that you have the rights you need to everything you upload or share, including the music, samples and recordings in it, and that sharing it doesn’t break anyone else’s rights.

Samples need extra care. A sample pack’s license usually lets you use its sounds inside your own music, but not pass the sound files themselves on to anyone else. A sample taken from someone else’s recording usually needs that owner’s permission. Before you upload or share a sample, or a file that contains one, check that its license allows it. That is your responsibility, not Outro’s, and we may remove a sample when its rights holder tells us it is being shared without permission.

7. Share links and guests

Anyone who has a track’s share link can play it and comment on it, without an account. You decide who gets the link, and you can revoke it at any time. We can’t stop someone from recording audio they are able to play.

If you are a guest commenting on a shared track, these terms apply to you too. Your comments are shown to the person who shared the track and to anyone else with the link, under the name you type. Keep them respectful.

8. Acceptable use

Don’t use the Service to:

  • Upload or share content you don't have the rights to, or that infringes anyone's copyright or other rights
  • Harass, threaten or abuse anyone, or share content that is illegal, hateful or sexually exploits anyone
  • Upload malware, or try to get into accounts, data or systems you aren't allowed to reach
  • Overload, scrape, probe or interfere with the Service, or get around its limits or security
  • Use it for spam, or to host files for purposes other than working on and sharing music
  • Break the law

We may remove content or suspend access that breaks these rules, and will tell you why where we reasonably can.

9. Copyright complaints and repeat infringers

Outro LLC’s designated agent for copyright notices is Christian Caicedo, Outro LLC, 5900 Balcones Drive, STE 100, Austin, TX 78731, United States, support@getoutro.app.

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, email support@getoutro.app with: your contact details, the work you own, the share link or other location of the content, a statement that you believe in good faith that its use is not authorized, and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or are authorized to act for the owner, and your physical or electronic signature. We will remove or disable access to infringing content and tell the person who shared it.

If something you shared was removed and you believe that was a mistake, or that it was misidentified, you can email support@getoutro.app a counter-notice with: your contact details, what was removed and where it was, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification, your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your address (or, if you live outside the United States, any judicial district where Outro may be found), and your physical or electronic signature. We will send it to the person who complained, and may put the content back after 10 to 14 business days unless they tell us they have gone to court.

We keep a record of valid copyright complaints against each account. An account with valid complaints about three separate items will be closed, and we may close an account sooner when the infringement is deliberate or serious. A complaint that is withdrawn, or answered by a counter-notice that is not taken to court, doesn’t count. Someone whose account we closed for repeat infringement may not open a new one. Sending a notice or counter-notice you know is false can make you liable for the harm it causes.

10. Ideas and feedback

If you send us suggestions, feature requests or other feedback about Outro, we may use them to improve the Service without owing you anything. This doesn’t apply to your music or other content.

11. Other services

The Service relies on providers such as our sign-in and hosting providers, and links to others, such as our Discord community. Their own terms apply to your use of them, and we aren’t responsible for them.

12. Suspension and ending

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms (including the repeat infringer rule in section 9), if the law requires it, or if we stop offering the Service or part of it. Except where you broke these terms or we are legally prevented, we will give you reasonable notice first, so you can keep copies of anything you have shared.

Sections 6 (the parts about rights you keep), 9, 10, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 18 continue to apply after your access ends.

13. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” It is beta software. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, that data will never be lost, or that it is fit for a particular purpose, merchantable or non-infringing.

14. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Outro will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50.

Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

15. Indemnity

If someone brings a claim against Outro because of content you uploaded or shared, or because you broke these terms or the law, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and losses from that claim, to the extent the law allows.

16. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute relating to these terms or the Service will be brought only in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, and you and Outro agree to the jurisdiction of those courts. If you live in a country whose laws give you the right to bring a claim in your own courts, or protections that can’t be waived, those rights are not affected.

Before bringing a claim, please email us at support@getoutro.app so we can try to resolve it informally.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Outro changes. We will update the effective date above, and if a change is significant, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms. If you don’t, stop using the Service and delete your account.

18. General

These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and Outro about the Service. If part of them can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a term straight away, we haven’t given up the right to. You may not transfer these terms without our consent. We may transfer them to a company that takes over Outro.
